Olympus Inks Distro Deal with Endocision

Olympus has begun an exclusive global distribution agreement with Endocision for a portable, single-use flexible cryocatheter system.

Olympus will be the exclusive global distributor of the Endocision platform, which supports a range of diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopic procedures. The duo expects to begin commercial launch in the U.S., Canada, and Europe early next year.

The portable system operates without an electrical source or large CO₂ tanks, enabling cryobiopsy and cryoextraction across hospital settings, including bronchoscopy suites, ICUs, operating rooms, and emergency departments. Applications include tissue acquisition, foreign-body and clot removal, tumor debulking, and airway recanalization.  Studies suggest cryobiopsy can provide larger specimens with less crush artifact than conventional forceps biopsy.

The agreement will expand Olympus’ respiratory portfolio, including endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) for lung and lymph node visualization and biopsy.
